IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting - IEEE PES GM 2013, Vancouver (Canada). 21-25 July 2013
Summary:
ESS applications within electric power systems can be basically grouped into power and energy applications This paper assesses the economic benefit that can be achieved employing EESs for peak-shaving purposes (an energy application) within isolated power systems. An optimization model of the weekly economic operation of isolated systems is developed for this purpose. The approach is successfully applied to two Spanish isolated power systems belonging to the Canary Islands.
